Vocational Training Centre
Vocational Training Centre
In 2023, Mathru expanded the operations to start a vocational training centre for young adults (15+) having intellectual and multiple disabilities. Our focus shifted to real-world skills, independence, and employment readiness, recognizing limited impact of academics beyond a certain age.
This centre provides some useful training like cooking, tailoring, housekeeping, gardening, carpet weaving, and decorative item making; also teach basic academics, computer literacy, mobility, sensory integration, and social interaction.
Activities like sports, art, outings, and festival celebrations build confidence and connection. A safe and adaptive learning space ensures every learner progresses at their own pace.
Students receive education, uniforms, learning aids, medical guidance, and counselling. Centre also helps parents to understand their child’s abilities and access government schemes and resources. Thus centre empowers both children and families toward a life of dignity and purpose.

A Journey of Determination, Excellence, and Inspiration
With the help of regular physiotherapy sessions provided at our school, Madhu gradually gained mobility and is now able to crawl around. He enjoys his freedom so much that he wouldn’t take help from anyone to move around the campus. He doesn’t require assistance with his personal hygiene anymore.
In the academic year 2021–2022, Madhu transitioned to the Vocational Centre. He is now able to participate in various vocational activities such as making paper plates and envelopes. He enjoys drawing and colouring too.
