A Journey of Determination

Meet Shankar, a resilient young man from Krishnapura, Channapatna Taluk, Karnataka, who was raised by a single mother. Shankar joined Mathru in 1st standard and studied with us through to his 10th grade. From an early age, he faced challenges not just in navigating the world around him, but also in striving for independence and supporting his family.
At Mathru, we believe education goes beyond textbooks. Alongside academics, Shankar was equipped with essential life skills such as gardening, housekeeping, carpet making, and computer basics — all part of our holistic learning approach. With unwavering dedication, he embraced every opportunity to learn and grow.
Today, we are proud to share that Shankar leads an independent and dignified life, holding a steady job and continuing to support his family.
Shankar’s success is not just his own — it’s a reflection of what’s possible when opportunity meets determination.
